Ambyr is an Associate in Aitken Whyte Lawyers’ Sunshine Coast criminal law, civil and commercial litigation practice. Ambyr has significant experience across all courts, from simple matters in the Magistrates’ Court to complex matters in the District and Supreme Courts and appeals. She leads Aitken Whyte’s criminal law, traffic and drink driving practice.
Ambyr has an interest in all areas of criminal law and has a complete understanding of social justice issues and the effect upbringing, addiction and mental illness can have on her clients.
In addition to her criminal defence and driving offences experience, Ambyr previously held a position in the prosecution and enforcement team for the Brisbane City Council which has given her a thorough awareness into how matters are dealt with on both sides providing an invaluable insight into her clients’ defence and has worked in London in international law firms and other expertise in private prosecutions.
Ambyr is approachable, considerate and always strives to ensure that the needs of her clients are met. For those that have limited experience in legal proceedings and dealing with solicitors, Ambyr is able to describe the Court process in simple terms to give her clients some comfort and an understanding of their proceedings and what they can expect to face.
She appears in Courts throughout Brisbane and South East Queensland most mornings and is best contactable in the afternoon. She completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Queensland and completed the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law. Ambyr is admitted as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Queensland and is a member of both the International Commission of Jurists (Qld) and the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland.
