Robert joined Aitken Whyte Lawyers as Special Counsel in February 2025. He brings with him a wealth of experience, gained from 35 years in legal practice.

Robert was previously the principal of a boutique commercial litigation practice in the Brisbane CBD for 11 years. His experience covers a range of areas, with a focus on commercial disputes, construction disputes, professional indemnity claims, trust, partnership, franchise and shareholder disputes, business insolvency, and regulatory matters. He has practised extensively in the Supreme, District, and Magistrates Courts of Queensland, the Federal Court of Australia, and various regulatory tribunals, both State and Federal. Robert has also assisted clients with project and infrastructure disputes in the United States, Germany, France, and Ireland.

As Special Counsel, with specialised expertise in commercial litigation, Robert handles complex cases and settles pleadings for the firm. Distilling the fundamental issues to be resolved, attention to detail, and achieving practical client outcomes are cornerstones of Robert’s approach to legal practice.
